Dez Bryant Color Rush Jersey Goes On Sale

By Sharon R. Lee

It's been three years since the NFL started a new initiative called Color Rush, which is meant to help teams sell their merchandise by releasing jerseys for each team in one color.

The league has released all 32 teams' jerseys, but as we near the end of the season, it may be too late for fans to purchase them.

For example, if your team wears white on Thursday night, you can buy a jersey with their opponent's colors on it (like Washington). But Dez Bryant's jersey does not include stripes down his sleeves as part of its color rush design. What gives?

Dallas Cowboys' No. 1 receiver Dez Bryant got a bit of an early Christmas present Monday.

As you know, Dez Bryant is the Cowboys' primary receiver and one of the best in the NFL. So it should come as no surprise that he got a bit of an early Christmas present Monday.

The Cowboys unveiled a limited edition jersey with his university's colors on it: blue and white stripes with a big red star in the middle. It's available for purchase right now on NFLShop.com for $99—but only until Dec 25th!

And not just because Bryant won't have to face Josh Norman when the Washington Redskins visit AT&T Stadium on Thursday night.

Bryant's white jersey will not be a throwback but rather a color rush jersey that doesn't feature his college colors (white and orange stripes down his sleeves).

With the release of Nike's color rush jerseys, per NFLShop.com, fans can now own an official Bryant throwback jersey featuring his university colors (Oklahoma State).

The jersey is available for pre-order and comes in both men's and women's sizes in both home and away colors as well as white or gray.

The Cowboys will be wearing their white jerseys Thursday, but Bryant's white No. 88 will not be a throwback but rather a color rush jersey that doesn't feature his college colors (white and orange stripes down his sleeves).

Dez Bryant is a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, playing in the NFL. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice and has led his team in receiving yards both years. Bryant was drafted by the Cowboys in 2010, where he's played ever since.

Bryant will be wearing a color rush jersey Thursday instead of his usual white No. 88 throwback jersey because that number has been retired by the team (to honor former quarterback Troy Aikman).

Previous releases of the Nike color rush uniforms had been reserved for games played by teams facing each other in primetime matchups (the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars being the sole exception).

The jersey is white with blue and orange trim, which is a departure from Bryant's usual royal blue jersey.

It also includes a large "DB" logo on the back, but doesn't have any stripes down the sleeves like you would see on an actual game day jersey.

Conclusion

If you are looking for the best Dez Bryant jersey, look no further than the Nike Color Rush version. It is a great way to show your support for one of the best wide receivers in football today.
