How to find your perfect color palette for Alice in Wonderland themed party

By Sharon R. Lee

Alice in Wonderland is such a fun and whimsical story, and it's perfect for throwing a themed party. But with so many elements to consider, how do you know where to start?

That's why we've put together this list of tips on how to construct the perfect Alice in Wonderland themed color palette for your party.

Decide on a color scheme.

The next step is to decide on a color scheme, or palette. To do this, you can use a color wheel like the one below.

You can also use a color palette generator online there are many available online and they're all pretty straightforward to use.

Just input your favorite colors and it'll give you a nice spectrum of colors that work well together in small amounts (which is what we want for our Alice in Wonderland party).

There are also apps that can help you find good color combinations I personally like Paletton because it's easy to use and has a huge amount of options for palettes!

Add in bright accent colors.

You can use bright accent colors to draw attention to a focal point — like a table centerpiece.

Or you could use them to create a pattern, like polka dots on napkins or confetti on tables. If you're looking for something that's less traditional and more whimsical, consider using bright colors in your place settings as well.

Make sure your color scheme is cohesive.

A cohesive color palette is essential to an Alice in Wonderland-themed party. To make sure your colors go together, make sure they're in the same family of colors: for example, blue and green are both cool colors so they go well together.

It may seem obvious that certain colors don't belong together oranges and purples don't belong in the same room, nor do browns and reds (unless you have a specific reason for doing so).

However, sometimes people get confused when it comes to complementary color schemes. Complementary means opposite on the color wheel; blue and orange are complementary because they're opposite each other on a wheel that has 12 spokes:

Blue/orange Red/green Yellow/purple Black/white White black gray light dark

Incorporate the seasons in your color palette.

If you're having a theme party, then it would make sense to use seasonal colors in your color palette. This will help create a cohesive and elegant look.

But don’t just stop there! Incorporate seasonal colors as accents and background colors as well. You can also use them in patterns on napkins, plates and other items on the table.

Pay attention to lighting.

Once you've decided upon a theme, the next step is finding your perfect color palette. The first thing to do is pay attention to lighting.

It may seem obvious that you should have dim lighting for an Alice in Wonderland themed party, but it's important to consider how much light you want in each area of the room and what effect that will have on the overall mood and ambiance of the party.

You can use chandeliers, floor lamps or even candles (depending on whether or not there will be kids at your event).

The next thing to consider is your venue—will it be outdoors? Indoors? Consider all these elements when choosing how much light makes sense for your space!

Consider patterns and textures.

You might have noticed that Alice in Wonderland is a very whimsical theme, and it can be used to create a party that is equally as cute and intriguing.

One way to do this is by choosing patterns and textures that match the mood of your party.

For example, if you want your guests to feel like they’re in an enchanted forest with butterflies fluttering around them as they sip on their cupcakes, then consider using floral or twig patterned plates and napkins at the table settings.

A similar technique could be applied with fabrics on seating or even wall decorations; just try not to go too overboard!

Another option would be if you want your gueststo feel like they are actually inside the story itself! In which case try incorporating images from Lewis Carroll's original book into elements of your decor (such as paper lanterns) or even clothing items such as t-shirts for some added fun.

There are many ways to make these different styles work together well so don't let yourself get overwhelmed by all these ideas!

Use these tips to construct a unique and cohesive color palette for your Alice in Wonderland party!

Use these tips to construct a unique and cohesive color palette for your Alice in Wonderland party!

  • Choose one or two main colors that you want to incorporate into the party. These should be a bright color and something that contrasts with it. For example, if you choose pink as your main color, then use red as a contrasting shade. The contrast between the two colors will make your theme stand out more visually.

  • Use lighter and darker shades of the same hue (e.g., light pink vs dark pink). This helps create more visual interest by using different tones within an overall theme rather than switching from one completely different shade/color scheme every time there's an accent piece used in decorating or food preparation (for example).

  • Don't forget about neutrals: black and white are great choices because they can help tie everything together without being overpowering on their own—and they're perfect for mixing with any other color combination!
