As a makeup artist, I'm always looking for new products to add to my kit and use on my clients. Recently, I discovered an amazing eyeshadow palette from City Color Cosmetics.
This company has been around for years but just recently released this incredible new product that blew me away with how good it looks and how easy it was to use.
It's called the Timeless Beauty Palette and contains 12 shimmery shades that are perfect for any occasion—from day wear at work or night out dancing!
Step 1: Start with a primed face.
Prime your face. This will help your foundation stay in place longer, and it creates a smoother surface for the colors to rest on.
Spray setting spray over your eyeshadow. This will make sure that the color stays locked in place all day long!
Dust setting powder over your eyeshadow as well as over any other products you use (like concealer). This will help keep everything in place, even if you touch or rub your face while applying makeup throughout the day.
Use a moisturizer before applying concealer under your eyes or around them because dry skin can make these areas look worse than they actually are!
Step 2: Apply the lighter shade of foundation to the areas that you want to highlight.
Like the first step, this one is also pretty easy. Using a brush, apply the lighter foundation to the areas you want to highlight such as your cheekbones and nose.
The trick here is to apply it on top of your foundation in small amounts and using a light hand. If you overdo it, you'll look washed out instead of radiant!
Step 3: Apply the darker shade of foundation to the features you want to contour, such as the sides of your nose, under your cheekbones and by your temples.
Apply the darker shade of foundation to the features you want to contour, such as the sides of your nose, under your cheekbones and by your temples.
Blend in well with a makeup brush or sponge until you can't see any lines where it's been applied.
Once you've applied a base layer of foundation, dust on setting powder using a fluffy brush or powder puffs for an even finish this helps set everything in place so that it lasts longer.
Apply eyeshadow by patting it onto eyelids with your fingers (you don't want to rub), then smooth over with an eyeshadow brush for a more precise look.
Step 4: Use a beauty blender or brush to blend in all of your foundation. Make sure it is thoroughly blended in and difficult to see where one color ends and another begins.
To finish up your base, you should use a beauty blender or brush to blend in all of your foundation. Make sure it is thoroughly blended in and difficult to see where one color ends and another begins.
To do this, start by using circular motions on the skin (as opposed to straight lines). This will help you blend easily without having the product show up unevenly.
If you are using a beauty blender, remember not to put too much pressure on the sponge as this can cause streaks on your face that are hard to cover up later! Also make sure not to forget an area like around the nose or under eyes!
Step 5: Use the lightest eyeshadow from the palette as a base color. Apply it from lashline to browbone.
Use a brush to apply the lightest shade of eyeshadow all over the lid.
Apply it from lashline to browbone.
Use a blending brush to blend the color into your crease line, if desired.
Now you can use either a fluffy brush or angled eyeliner brush (I prefer an angled liner) and apply a darker shade of eyeshadow all over your outer corner.
Step 6: Take the eye primer and apply it all over your lid. Then apply a light layer of loose setting powder on top of that. This will help keep everything in place during blending and application of deeper colors and will make the color look more vibrant.
Now it's time to apply the eyeshadow!
The next step is to take the eye primer and apply it all over your lid. This will help create a smooth surface for the eye shadow to adhere to and keep it from creasing later on.
After you've applied this, take the loose setting powder and apply a light layer of that on top of your primer.
This will strengthen the adhesion of your eye shadow, keeping everything in place during blending and application of deeper colors, as well as making them pop more vibrantly!
Step 7: Take the first color from the outside corner of the palette (the one that is closest to your medium-color lid) and apply it all over your eyelid, stopping just a little before your crease line.
The color you choose for this step should be one shade lighter than your medium color. Take the first color from the outside corner of the palette (the one that is closest to your medium-color lid), and apply it all over your eyelid, stopping just a little before your crease line.
Blend out toward your browbone with a fluffy brush or an eyeshadow brush if you want even more blending.
Conclusion
And there you have it! A simple eye look that will make your eyes pop. This technique can be used for everyday looks or for special occasions when you want more glamour.
